Fawen Zhang, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Cincinnati. She is also the Department Head for Communication Sciences and Disorders. She received her medical degree (General Medicine and Otolaryngology) in China and Ph.D. in Audiology from the University of South Alabama. After graduation from the PhD program, she continued her postdoctoral training in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Iowa until August 2007 when she started her faculty position at University of Cincinnati. She was promoted as an Associate Professor in 2013 and Professor in 2018. Her areas of interest include auditory electrophysiology, auditory neuroscience, cochlear implants, and speech perception.
