The Dual Admissions Pathways into UC's Speech Language Pathology (SLP) and Audiology (AuD) Programs.
Designed for students who enter the Speech Language Hearing Sciences (SLHS) program coming out of high school as a first-year student.
Transfer/transition students may be eligible for this pathway depending on their previous course credits and grades.
Incoming first-year, SLHS students are automatically enrolled in the Dual Admissions Pathway - which will allow you to secure a spot into one of our graduate programs including:
- Master’s of Speech-Language Pathology (MA SLP Campus) OR
- Master’s of Speech-Language Pathology (MA SLP Online) OR
- Doctor of Audiology (AuD)
To Remain in Good Standing in the Dual Admissions Pathway:
- Must have a college-level cumulative GPA ≥ 3.4 at the time of graduate application.
- Must have B- or higher in all Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) pre-requisite courses
- Must have C or higher in all other courses (C- is not accepted).
- Must be a member of a UC-affiliated student organization, e.g., NSSLHA, MC2, or CAHS Tribunal
To determine continued eligibility, SLHS students should consult with their Academic Advisor to verify a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher and that the student can complete all required undergraduate courses prior to starting the graduate program.
We realize your cumulative GPA may dip below 3.4 in your academic career due to challenging coursework. It is important, as you enter the fall semester of the 3rd year that you meet the minimum GPA standard.
By April 15th, going into summer before the final undergraduate year, SLHS students should check with their Academic Advisor on eligibility to the Dual Admissions Pathway and fill out the intent to apply form. Dual Admissions students will receive a preliminary confirmation email from the program to proceed with starting an application via CSDCAS.
